Did you know that we are inserted in the Pico Island Vineyard Culture Landscape?
Pico Island is known for its unique landscape, characterized by the culture of the vineyard in "currais" (stone walls).
The vineyard culture landscape, where the houses of Paraíso do Triângulo are inserted, was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2004.
The "currais" are small plots of land bordered by loose stone walls, built to protect the vines from the strong, salty winds that blow in from the coast.
The vine culture in Pico Island has a long history, dating back to the 15th century. The wines produced in this region are famous for their quality, with a unique and complex flavor, a result of the climatic conditions and the volcanic soil of the island.
The main grape varieties used for wine production in Pico Island are Verdelho and Arinto.
